Galleria Botticelli antique shop was founded in Terni in 1980 thanks to Doctor Franco Franconi 's enthusiasm, and was run for 25 years by his sons Enrico and Spartaco, dealing in high quality antiques and important works of art.
From the initial passion for stamp collecting and numismatics they continued with sixteenth and seventeenth century Italian furniture, paintings, sculptures, majolicas, and bronzes from the Italian Renaissance. The art gallery participates in the high level antiques trade, and has taken part in important events such as the Modenantiquaria, Brixiantiquaria, Assisi, Cortona, Todi, Viterbo, and Parma exhibitions and has organized important events on behalf of public bodies, such as on the occasion of the bicentenary, the exhibition on the French Revolution at the headquarters of Terni Province, and the exhibition on Neapolitan Cribs in Cenacolo S.Marco. For approximately a year the art gallery has been in its new location, Via Donatello 2 ,where it is possible to admire the collection peacefully and discreetly.
In its purchasing, the gallery has always favoured quality and authenticity providing its clients with photographic guarantees, expertise, specific documentations, laboratory tests, thermoluminescence, infrared reflectography , x-rays,etc. using the best professionals in the restoration and research field.
